    The MSU chapter of the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) is sponsoring an information session for anyone interested in pursuing medical school.  A panel of undergraduate students (across majors), who just applied to medical school, will share their diverse experiences on the pre-med path and provide important information for students interested in medical school.  The panel session will be from 5-6 PM on September 7th in the Mississippi Room of the Curris Center.     Most people would agree that the middle school year can be very difficult.  That is why ten years ago the Murray State Women&#039;s Center began the G.R.O.W. program.  This mentoring program pairs a selected group of college women with a selected group of middle school girls and endevers to devolp better seld-confidence and leadership skills. We are hoping that you will help us find a great group of college women for this years mentoring program. Interested or wanting to learn more?     The Murray State Regional Business and Innovation Center will host “Geeks Night Out” for the Professional Organization of Information and Network Technology (P.O.I.N.T.) Sept. 14. The meeting will take place at the Pennyrile Area Development District Office Boardroom in Hopkinsville from 5:30-7 p.m.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
P.O.I.N.T. was created in 2009 by the RBIC to allow professionals in technology-based fields and anyone interested in technology to interact, share new information and learn from each other.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Michael Bowman, Associate Professor of Telecommunications System Management at Murray State University, will speak at the event. His lecture is entitled “What’s Next?  Mining Technology Trends from the Internet’s Unstructured Data.” The speech will address predictions for the “next big thing” in information technology, along with a project to uncover them.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
While there is no cost to attend the meeting, a business card or contact information will be requested upon arrival.     Beginning, Tuesday August 31st at 4:00, a cycling class will be offered at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center that is geared toward MSU employees. The weekly (Tuesday) 45 minute class is sponsored by MSU’s employee wellness program, Healthy LIFE. Anyone, regardless of fitness level or experience is welcome to join the class. To ensure you will have a bike, please call the wellness center (809-6000) starting at 8:00 am on the morning of the class each week. Please attempt to arrive 10 minutes before class to allow adequate time for bike set up. Held at Murray State’s beautiful Miller Memorial Golf Course, this event, which is one of a kind in the region, was developed specifically for women in the telecom industry.  The golfing activities are designed for women who do and do not know how to golf to come together for a day of networking and fun. AT&amp;T has sponsored the event the past few years and continues its support this September. The Center for TSM at Murray State is asking for a $50 donation from each participant to help fund the AT&amp;T Women in Telecom Scholarship that will be awarded to chosen females entering the Murray State TSM program for the 2010-2011 school year.&lt;br /&gt;

    MSU’s employee wellness program, Healthy LIFE, and Dining Services are planning to partner with Weight Watchers ® to offer an “at Work” program again this fall. Weight Watchers ® at Work will be open to MSU employees, spouses and MSU students. A minimum of 15 participants is required. The cost will be $144 per participant for a 12-week series.
