McNair program accepts new scholars
The McNair Scholars program is proud to announce that four new scholars have been accepted into the program. Each is an outstanding undergraduate student with academic plans to attend graduate school. Brianna Cassidy is a senior from Hardin, Kentucky pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. Senior, Daniel Duncan is an Economics major from Marion, Kentucky. Michael Holland of Murray, Kentucky is a junior, majoring in Business Management Entrepreneurship and Chloe Williams is a senior from Burkesville, Kentucky pursing a degree in Psychology.
The McNair Scholars Program seeks to help undergraduate students achieve their full potential by encouraging and preparing eligible students in all disciplines for pursuing a Ph.D. McNair participants have a unique opportunity to engage in an in-depth, faculty-guided research project that gives them an edge when applying to graduate school. Faculty mentors work closely with students, preparing them to be leaders in their field of study. Participants also receive opportunities for academic counseling, financial aid, tutoring, seminars and graduate school visits to prepare for graduate study. Obtaining a Ph.D. increases one’s earning power and job opportunities and McNair scholars are part of a supportive community which includes other scholars who share the same aspirations. Congratulations to our new scholars. The McNair program has openings for scholars for the spring semester. Interested students or faculty may contact the program at 809-2951 or mcnair@murraystate.edu.
