Shakespeare Festival is Feb. 21 - 24

The Murray Shakespeare Festival is very pleased to bring The American Shakespeare Center's "Rough, Rude, and Boisterous" tour to Murray for three performances of Shakespeare's magnificent tragic romance "Romeo and Juliet" and one performance of Francis Beaumont's hilarious comedy "The Knight of the Burning Pestle." Headquartered in Staunton, Virginia, The American Shakespeare Center is an internationally renowned theater company that strives to recreate the dynamic staging practices that Shakespeare's own audiences experienced, thrilling young and old alike with a mixture of music, dance, and of course, the power of Shakespeare's beautiful language.

Romeo and Juliet, with Josh Carpenter and Brandi Rhome, will be presented on Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. in Murray State’s Johnson Theater, and again on Feb. 23-24 at 10 a.m. in Lovett Auditorium. Also, The Knight of the Burning Pestle will be performed Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. in Lovett Auditorium. Johnson Theatre is located in the Doyle Fine Arts Building. Tickets for both plays, available at the door, are $5 with an MSU I.D. and $10 for general admission. For more ticket information, call (270) 809-2397.

*Please note: All performances this year will occur in Lovett.
